Coir Insulation Mats

Packaging & Insulation

Natural Coconut Fiber Thermal
& Acoustic Insulation

Coir insulation mats provide a natural, sustainable alternative to synthetic insulation materials while delivering reliable thermal and acoustic performance.

Coir insulation mats are natural insulation materials made from the fibrous husk of coconuts.

These strong and elastic fibers are processed into mats or panels and treated with boron salt for fire resistance and insect protection.

As a renewable and eco-friendly material, coir insulation is widely used in construction, furniture manufacturing, and protective packaging.

Key Benefits

Eco-Friendly Material

Made from natural coconut fibers, coir insulation is biodegradable, recyclable, and sustainable, supporting environmentally responsible construction.

Excellent Acoustic Insulation

The fibrous structure absorbs sound effectively, helping reduce noise levels.

  • Impact noise reduction: 25–35 dB
  • Airborne noise reduction: up to 47 dB

Thermal Insulation Performance

Coir provides reliable thermal insulation with a conductivity of λ = 0.043 – 0.047 W/m·K, helping improve indoor comfort.

Moisture and Pest Resistance

Coconut fibers are naturally rot-resistant, moisture-resistant, and resistant to fungi and insects, ensuring long service life.

Applications

Coir insulation mats are used in:
  • Building thermal and acoustic insulation
  • Furniture and mattress manufacturing
  • Eco-friendly packaging for fragile goods
  • Fruit and vegetable packaging

Available Forms

Coir insulation materials are available in:
  • Flexible rolls
  • Semi-rigid panels
  • Insulation boards
  • Resilient strips
  • Loose fiber
  • Coir insulation mats

Coir fibers can also be combined with expanded cork (“Corkoco”) to improve acoustic insulation performance.
